Google AdSense on WordPress, set up right

Enter your publisher ID once. AdPresso writes the Google line into your ads.txt, adds the Auto Ads code for site verification and lets you place AdSense units exactly where they belong. No theme edits, no copied snippets.
All AdSense features shown here are part of the free plugin unless marked Pro.

How AdPresso connects your site to AdSense

AdSense needs three things from your website: proof that the site is yours, an ads.txt file that names Google as an authorized seller, and ad code in the right places. AdPresso handles all three from one settings screen.

1. Connect

Turn on the AdSense module under AdPresso → Settings → AdSense and enter your publisher ID. Set up Auto Ads with one click: AdPresso creates one ad and one placement that add the global AdSense code to every page.

2. Authorize

With the ads.txt module, AdPresso serves your ads.txt as a virtual file, keeps your physical file or points to an external one. If your physical file lacks your publisher ID, the AdSense settings warn you.

3. Place

Use Auto Ads, manual AdSense units or both. Manual units go into placements such as Content or Manual placements, and conditions decide on which pages and devices they appear.

 AdSense features, Free and Pro

The AdSense essentials are free. Pro adds measurement and privacy options for sites that want more control.

Auto Ads and site verification · Free

The global AdSense code is added through a dedicated placement, without editing theme files. Switch it off with the same toggle.

ads.txt management · Free

Virtual, physical or external ads.txt, one entry per line, with the Google line taken from your publisher ID.

Placements, conditions and tracking · Free

Put manual AdSense units into placements, limit them by device or page type, and count impressions and clicks in WordPress.

Viewability and non-personalized ads · Pro

Measure how many of your ad impressions are actually seen with Active View tracking, and serve non-personalized AdSense ads when visitors give only limited consent through the IAB TCF.

 Frequently asked questions

Is the AdSense integration free?

Yes. The AdSense module with Auto Ads setup and site verification, the ads.txt module, placements, conditions and impression and click tracking are part of the free plugin. Active View tracking and non-personalized AdSense ads are part of AdPresso Pro.

Can I use Auto Ads and manual AdSense units together?

Yes. Auto Ads runs through the global code that AdPresso adds. Manual units are separate ads that you put into placements. Google lets you combine both; check your Auto Ads settings in AdSense so the two do not crowd the same pages.

Do I still need to do anything in my AdSense account?

Yes. After the setup in AdPresso, request site verification under Sites in your AdSense account and make sure Auto Ads is enabled for your domain if you want to use it. Approval and verification are decided by Google.

What happens to an existing ads.txt file?

You choose. AdPresso can keep the physical file in your root directory, serve a virtual file it generates or use a file from an external URL. If a physical file does not contain your publisher ID, the AdSense settings show a warning.
